"I discovered I always have choices, and sometimes it´s only a choice of attitude." - Judith Knowlton
"I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time." - Anna Freud
"Don´t let the negativity given to you by the world disempower you. Instead, give to yourself that which empowers you." - Les Brown
Reading these quotes above certainly resonates with you in one or the other way. They are common issues in everybody´s life and especially
with people who are looking around for more meaning in life; the ones who never stopped learning new things even though they finished school
or college a long time ago; people who are always looking for new challenges, who want to experience different facets in life are bound to be
unsatisfied with the usual 9 to 5 routine.
Matt Morris, the founder of Success University, wrote about "goals" and "vision" in a recent newsletter that stopped me in my tracks.
Here's what he said: "We all know what a goal is, but vision is a topic of confusion for many. To put it in the simplest of terms, your
vision is how you see yourself. You can set goals all day long, but if you cannot truly see yourself achieving them, your goals will never be
realized. To accomplish a goal, you must truly expect to achieve it."
For many of us a vision is nothing but a dream. We tend to think of it as a far away ideal. But this is not the case. It is as far away or
as close as we let it be. Let´s say our vision is to get out of the ratrace and live a peaceful, happy life with lots of time for our family.
Would that be an adorable vision? I guess so. Would you believe me when I say that the only obstacle standing in the way is YOU? - probably
not!
The mind has a tendency to seek responsibility for our actions and "fate" in the outside world. It is the way we were taught to think. It
is the way that people can easily allow themselves to be controlled by. They are powerless. They give their power to people in charge; they
follow rules and don´t think for themselves. And what´s worse, they are not even aware of it.If you have read the article this far you might
be one of the few who has already tasted the flavor of being in power yourself. Not behaving any more as a victim, you have made a few
conscious choices in your life and you´ve seen they worked out fine. Taking a different perspective once in a while - the opposite just for
fun - and all of a sudden seeing the bigger picture has revealed a lot to you. I want people to wake up to themselves before it is too late.
If you don't want to be a carbon copy of someone else, it is of huge importance in life to discover who YOU are.
My vision in life is to discover who I really am, apart from all psychological overlays which have been imposed upon me since I was a
small child. It takes a while to come to the point of no return, but then nothing and nobody is able to stop you. Parents, teachers, peers
and churches are telling us how they want us to behave; what is right or wrong. Have you ever asked yourself: How do I feel about it? or do
you just absorb the social behavior and make it your own?
"Feeling" is important. Feelings are much more powerful than words. If you watch yourself closely you will see that at first a feeling of
anger arises before it is expressed into words. And whenever we are overwhelmed by certain feelings we often cannot find words for their
expression. Feelings are the key to everybody´s journey into self-growth and personal development. Study your feelings for a while and take
notes. Try to "feel" your goals and your vision instead of only "thinking" of it. You will soon notice how everything begins to fall into
place.
