CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You have taken the first step toward financial freedom. Financial freedom does not necessarily mean "rich" but having
the same if not more financial stability as if you worked a traditional job. Being able to spend more time with your family is priceless.
This is what financial freedom is all about. So many people have hyped this word up that its meaning has became altered. Financial freedom is
being able to enjoy life, spend time with your family, paying your bills, and not having someone tell you when you can go on vacation. We are
happy that you have taken the time out of your busy schedule to find out all you can about starting your own business.
Things you need to do before you get started!!!
Let us tell you, first, starting your own business is part of the American Dream. Like any other business, you have to be ready and have a
plan. Timing is everything in business. Time is Money! The first thing you would want to do is find a business you believe in. If you have
your own products/services that you invented or created that is fine. All you will need is a website to get started. If you have been looking
at independent associate opportunities available through various companies, then you will have to check out each one. This advice you are
going to receive can work for both types of individuals.
Let's start by telling you what you need to do first.
You need to make sure that your household budget is covered, not just for one month or two; you have to make sure you can pay your bills.
I know that some people will that they made it in the business without a job and needed the income and they borrowed the money. That maybe
true, but those people are a dime a dozen. Everybody can not do that. We could not do that, but again that doesn't mean you can not do it.
Just be careful, you do not want to take from your family or get yourself more in debt trying to start your own business.
Know your WHY! I know that this may sound corny, and you probably heard it a thousand times if you have read up on this subject somewhere
else, but this is very important. Many people do not clearly understand why they are in business. Know why you are going into business for
yourself. Whatever that reason may be, hold on to it tight and never give up. You can even print out/cut out some pictures of your dream
vacation, home, and car, whatever it is that you want. You can even put up a picture of your family to remind you that you want to be able to
spend more time with them, or you could be doing this just to earn extra income. We see so many people who love their jobs and just want some
extra Christmas money or some extra money just to pay a car note or save money for their children's college. Whatever the reason, make sure
you know your why and it needs to be strong. Strong enough, to when you think about it, it brings tears to your eyes. Whatever kind of tears.
Tears of happiness, tears of sadness. It has to make you cry. You'll know why we say that in a minute.
Be mentally prepared. You have to know your why and be ready to expect, we did not say accept, we said expect negative remarks from
friends and family. This is the killer of all dreams right here. This is the main problem that most individuals have and this is the main
problem why they have not accomplished their goals. We have people email us and tell us all about how their cousin or mother told them that
their business is a scam or a pyramid. We are not going to say whether it was or was not because we do not know, but there are legitimate
companies out there and people still say their scams when they are not. You have to know that this will happen. It happens to everybody,
getting started. You have to be mentally prepared to overcome and give yourself time. It's not going to happen over night and it's not going
to happen in 6 months. You have to give yourself 3-5 years to see a 6 figure income. Some people can do this faster, but the average person
needs time, especially if you're new to everything. Some people can do it, others can not, but do not get discouraged because the laws of
average are if you do something over a period of time you will be successful. Your family and friends love you, they do not want to see you
hurt or see you fail. Try to listen with one ear and let it go out the other. Do not, Do not, let them steal your dreams away from you. YOU
CAN DO IT!!!
Be financially prepared. You have to invest in your business. It will not work all by itself. I do not care what anybody tells you, your
first year in business you have to work. Do not expect much your first year. You have to build your business. The first year, should be about
building. That is all. If you make a 5 figure income in your first year, celebrate, you did an excellent job and I personally know people who
have, but they did not expect it. So, do not get discouraged, so quickly. The first year is building, marketing, and learning what works and
what does not work for your business. What works for one person's business, might not work for yours. If you are considering a company that
has strategies that are duplicated, please follow them. They have a system in place that has been proven to work. Do not try to reinvent the
wheel. You'll hurt yourself more than you would help yourself. You should have at least $500 to start with, and should be able to invest at
least $100 or more a month. Some companies charge more to start, so check out the company that you are looking at. We personally do not look
at companies that want to charge us an arm and a leg. Keep your job, or if your husband works and you stay at home, make sure he can put
aside the necessary amount of money each month until you start making a profit. Do not compromise your household obligations. We have done
it, and it was not pretty.
Make sure that the company is right for you. This is very important. Know yourself. Find a company that you respect and are proud to
represent. Many people jump on the opportunity and they really did not believe in the products or services offered. Do not make this mistake.
You have to conduct your own investigation. Check out the company, so you'll know if it is legit. Do not pay attention to those people who
have done the business and did not succeed. This is what I call an anger strike. They did not give the business time, or they were not
properly prepared, so they blame the company. When you are self employed you are the only one in charge of your success, YOU, not anyone
else. Check and see if the company is on the stock exchange or something to that effect. Message boards are opinions not facts, and you want
to know facts about the company. Also, you must believe in the products or services offered. Hey, you are in business for yourself, you no
longer have to work a job you do not like. That is the joy of owning your own business, so do not get with a company if you do not agree with
the products or services that they offer. Find a company you enjoy representing. This is the key. The other important aspect you must look at
is the compensation plan. You want to know how you are going to be paid. We are not trying to work for free. We want income that can pay our
bills and let us stay home. We want over time to make more money than any traditional job would pay us in 3-5 years. This is the goal, so
make sure to check out the company's compensation play.
